Please join us for a live webinar on GoTo Webinar presented by Speech Pathologist Nicola Hardingham and facilitated by our Clinical Educator Alan Spinks. In this webinar we will explore the distinctive airflow features of the Provox Vega voice prosthesis and present clinical evidence highlighting its improved voicing qualities for individuals using tracheoesophageal speech after total laryngectomy. We will delve into how diameter affects voice quality and examine its impact through patient case studies.

Dr. Nicola Hardingham is a speech pathologist with over 17 years of clinical experience gained across tertiary hospitals in the UK, Australia and Canada. She is a specialist in the field of Head and Neck Cancer and ENT. Nicola is passionate about working with patients who have undergone a total laryngectomy and is committed to improving outcomes from diagnosis to survivorship. Nicola completed her Doctor of Philosophy in 2025 at The University of Queensland, investigating surgical swallow outcomes within Head and Neck Cancer. Her research interests continue in the field of laryngectomy care and upper airway. Nicola has presented at several national and international conferences and lectured at The University of Sydney and Macquarie University. Nicola is a Clinical Educator for Atos Medical, providing clinical support to healthcare professionals working in laryngectomy care.

Alan Spinks is a qualified nurse with over 38 years’ experience. As well as being a nurse Alan holds an honours degree in psychology. He has a post graduate qualification in Education and has worked exclusively with laryngectomees in UK, NZ, and Australia. Alan is a laryngectomee himself which helps him bring a special insight into living with a TL. He is passionate about improving the lives of his fellow laryngectomees and works tirelessly through consultations and the development of IT Technology.
